As an exercise in designing graphics, I set out to redesign a poster series for the American Museum of Natural History's exhibit Creatures of Light. The goal was to create a series of compelling moving posters that effectively integrated typography.

The Originals
This project was inspired by seeing some older promotional materials from American Museum of Natural History. The concept of posters about bioluminescence was begging for some updated visuals that could really draw in viewers and get people excited about the visit.
Sketches
One of the main goals of this project was to thoroughly integrate the type into the imagery. This took a lot of thinking to incorporate an appropriate level of copy into the poster without overcrowding or simply slapping text on top of the imagery. Through each of these sketches I worked to think about how the typesetting could be incorporated into 3D space so that it could interact with the imagery I was creating.
